Pressley sets Wilson challenge

Coventry boss Steven Pressley has challenged Callum Wilson to maintain his early-season form.

The Sky Blues striker has netted three goals in their opening two Sky Bet League One matches, but Pressley believes the arrival of Mathieu Manset will soon provide competition for places. The Frenchman featured in a recent Under-21 outing and his manager expects him to be challenging Wilson and fellow forward Leon Clarke. "Scoring goals is obviously a striker's main job but our style means that we need them to be pressing the opposition, disrupting their game at every opportunity," he told the Coventry Telegraph. "Callum and Leon have really bought into that culture and I'm particularly delighted for Callum because he's had a lot of injury setbacks in his career and he's waited a long time to get a run in the first team. "I've told him how pleased I am with his efforts but I've also told him that he can't afford to sit back and think he's made it. "Every time he raises the bar he sets himself a new target. That's how young players improve and he's certainly shown that he will accept that challenge."
