Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is hopeful that the club can get in-form striker Marc Pugh to sign a new contract and stay with the club.

The 25-year-old, who has scored 29 goals in 108 appearances for the Cherries, rejected an improved deal in the summer and as recently as Saturday stressed his desire to play in the Championship. On the topic of contract negotiations within his squad Howe told the Bournemouth Daily Echo: "I know there are a couple, one in particular Marc Pugh, that we want to address if we can. But, hopefully, all the lads will want to be part of what we are trying to do. "I have had a brief conversation with him (Pugh) and his representative but it will be something that, hopefully, we can sort out. Hopefully, Marc is enjoying his time here. "If he can see that we are progressing as a football club and trying to get to where he wants to play, then hopefully he will stick with us. "Ever since we first saw him, we immediately really liked him, his characteristics and the way he plays the game. He scored two really good goals on Saturday and looked a real threat throughout."
