Midfielder looking forward to Europa League campaign

Dan Gosling has insisted he is happy at Newcastle and is keen to play more regularly next season after a year when he has had to remain patient. Gosling joined the Magpies from Everton in 2010 but has yet to establish himself as a permanent fixture in the starting XI due to a combination of injuries and the good form of others. There was talk of a loan move last season but nothing materialised and the 22-year-old has now set his sights on breaking into the team next term. Gosling is delighted Newcastle managed to secure Europa League qualification and believes they can enjoy another successful 12 months. He told the Evening Chronicle: "I just want to get more time on the pitch.

Opportunity

"We all knew we had quality here but none of us were going round saying that we'd be in the top four at the end of the season. "We always just aimed for the top 10 and as the season progressed we were still up there and it went to the Europa League. "We'd have been very happy with it if we'd been offered it." Gosling added: "I still love it here. It's a great club to be at. "This club will always attract players but hopefully my opportunity will come."
