David Noble: Scored a late winner as Exeter clinched a surprise victory over Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield United closed to within a point of fierce rivals Sheffield Wednesday after Saturday's League One programme was decimated by the weather.

Exeter City boosted their survival prospects after coming from behind to beat second-placed Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 at St James Park.

Jermaine Johnson had given the Owls a 65th minute lead, but Billy Jones levelled three minutes later and David Noble scored the winner for Exeter with six minutes to go.

With Huddersfield not in action, Sheffield United moved into third and a point behind the Owls after a 3-0 home triumph over struggling Wycombe Wanderers.

On-loan striker Will Hoskins made the breakthrough on 66 minutes before goals from Ched Evans and Kevin McDonald made certain of the points.

Bournemouth are now a point adrift of the play-off positions following a 0-0 draw away to mid-table Hartlepool United.
