Chris Powell: Takes his Charlton side to Exeter on Saturday

League One leaders Charlton continue their promotion push at Exeter on Saturday, while second-placed Huddersfield travel to Tranmere.

FA Cup fourth-round action this weekend means only eight League One games take place but important points are up for grabs at both ends of the table.

Chris Powell's Charlton have won three on the bounce to sit seven points clear at the top and next up is a trip to 18th-placed Exeter.

But it will be no pushover against a Grecians side who are unbeaten in four outings to lie three points above the drop zone.

With both Sheffield clubs not in league action this weekend, Huddersfield can go three points clear in second place with a win at Tranmere.

Lee Clark's side are unbeaten in seven league games - including three wins on the bounce - and will be confident after coming from two goals down to beat Brentford 3-2 last time, while Rovers have not won in five games, taking just two points to sink to 17th.

Seventh-placed Carlisle can draw level on points with the play-offs with a victory at Hartlepool, who are unbeaten in three but have drawn their last two.

Down at the bottom, new Rochdale boss John Coleman will be looking to beat Bury in his first game in charge at Spotland and push his 23rd-placed side up the table.

But it will be a tough ask - Dale have not won in 16 league attempts - while the Shakers will be confident after beating Yeovil last time.

Wycombe halted a four match closing run - climbing to 22nd in the table - by beating Rochdale last time and next up is a trip to ninth-placed Brentford, who will be looking to bounce back after blowing their two goal lead in the defeat to the Terriers.

Yeovil can also climb out of the drop zone with a home win over Preston, who will be looking to build on a goalless draw at Notts County on Tuesday.

In the last League One game on Saturday, Colchester can leapfrog Leyton Orient with a win at the Matchroom Stadium.

In Friday night's game, bottom side Chesterfield take on eighth-placed Bournemouth aiming to make it two wins on the bounce after beating the U's last time.
