Steven Gregory is desperate to reward Bournemouth manager Lee Bradbury for the belief he put in the midfielder in the summer.
Gregory, 24, has featured 19 times for the Cherries since arriving on the south coast in July, and is revelling in playing the highest-level football of his career so far.
And he hopes to pay back Bradbury for handing him his big break.
"I'm happy to be here," Gregory said. "I was lucky with Bradders taking a chance on me and hopefully I've repaid him or at least am repaying him at the moment.
"I just want to be competing for places and to be involved in this squad is fantastic.
"We want competition, as it keeps us all on our toes and it will make us all improve together."
