Port Vale have snapped up Ben Williamson from Bournemouth and midfielder Ryan Burge on free transfers.
Striker Williamson was offered a new contract by Bournemouth, but has opted to sign a 12-month deal at Port Vale in order to secure more regular first-team football.
Burge, meanwhile, has signed a two-year contract at Vale Park after leaving Doncaster Rovers, and he also had a spell on loan in League Two with Oxford United last season.
Both players were also formerly at Glenn Hoddle's Academy and Vale boss Micky Adams was happy to make his first signings since returning to the club.
Adams told the club's official website: "Both Ryan and Ben are two young players with a lot of potential and we believe the pair can have a big impact on the squad this season.
"Ryan is a creative central midfielder and will bring plenty of quality on the ball, but he is also a very hard-working individual.
"Ben is a quick striker who I have been tracking for a while and I believe is a player who can develop with us. We are delighted that he has agreed to join us, especially as he has turned down a deal at Bournemouth to come to Vale Park."
