Peterborough have seen their bid for Bournemouth centre-back Jason Pearce accepted by the club, it has been confirmed.

Posh have offered in the region of £500,000 and will now look to enter talks over personal terms with the 23-year-old, although he is understood to currently be on holiday. United boss Darren Ferguson is a big fan of Pearce, who started all 46 regular league games for the Cherries last season, and has been tracking his services for a while, although rival clubs are also believed to be interested. Pearce, twice voted player of the season by Bournemouth fans in four years with the club, saw red late on in their play-off semi-final defeat to Huddersfield and would be suspended for the first three games of next term. Peterborough, themselves promoted through the play-offs, conceded 75 goals last season as they finished fourth in League One - equalling the joint-second worst defensive record in the third tier.
