Keeper agrees extension for further month

Experienced goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan has prolonged his association with Portsmouth for another month. The 33-year-old has been with Pompey since August, working on a rolling contract. Steve Cotterill has opted to retain the former Southend man each time his deal comes to an end, handing him a succession of short-term agreements. That is the case again in January, with Flahavan agreeing to another month-long extension. He will be hoping that his time at Fratton Park eventually sees him make a first-team appearance, with Jamie Ashdown currently blocking his path. He has been on the bench for every game since he linked up with Pompey, but is yet to make the step up and force his way into Cotterill's starting XI.
