Hammers starlet insists manager has full backing of the players

Junior Stanislas has offered his support to Avram Grant as the West Ham boss falls under increasing pressure. With the Hammers destined to be bottom of the Premier League pile at Christmas, calls for a managerial reshuffle at Upton Park are growing in intensity. Reports have suggested that Grant has just two more games in which to save his job, with the club's board keen to see progress being made. A 1-1 draw with Blackburn on Saturday was a step in the right direction, but was not enough to take the club off the foot of the table.

Spirit

Stanislas is confident the Hammers can steer a path to safety, though, and believes Grant remains the ideal candidate to oversee a survival bid. "Everyone is fully behind the manager," said the England U21 international, who grabbed West Ham's equaliser at Ewood Park. "People might think the team spirit is not the best because we're bottom of the league but everyone is pulling together, just trying to stick together and get out of it. "Being bottom at Christmas doesn't sound good but the belief is there and it has to be if we want to get out of it."
