Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has paid tribute to Brett Pitman as he closes in on a switch to Bristol City.
The striker is expected to finalise his move on Monday after snubbing Premier League side Blackpool, bringing an end to his six-year association with the Cherries.
Howe expressed gratitude toward the 22-year-old for his service to the club, which saw him plunder 59 goals in 103 appearances.
Howe told the club's official website: "We expect Brett to join Bristol City and we are very disappointed to lose him.
"Anyone who has watched us for the last 18 months can see what a good player and excellent finisher he is and we are going to miss him immensely.
"It's a great opportunity for him to test himself at a higher level and we wish him all the best and I hope he goes there and carries on the form that he has shown for us. I'd like to thank him for everything that he has done for AFC Bournemouth."
