Bournemouth are hoping to finalise the loan signing of Matt Tubbs from Salisbury City.
Tubbs has agreed to join the Cherries on loan until the New Year, with the League Two club awaiting Football League approval of the deal.
Salisbury are keen to trim their wage bill and confirmed earlier this month that the striker had been made available for loan.
The Blue Square Premier side's manager Nick Holmes is also not ruling out a permanent move for Tubbs at the end of his loan spell.
"Matt will be joining Bournemouth on loan up until the transfer window," Holmes told the Daily Echo. "We'll have to see what happens then."
The Cherries are looking to have the deal rubber-stamped in time for Tubbs to be in the squad for Friday's game against Grimsby Town.
