BOURNEMOUTH captain Carl Fletcher has agreed a new two-year contract.

The 22-year-old, who has proven himself at the centre of defence, has agreed to extend his stay by an extra 12 months.

Fletcher scored two goals in their play-off final success last week, which saw Bournemouth clinch a 5-2 win over Lincoln.

The Cherries are now securing the futures of a number of their squad and Fletcher is the third player this week to pen a new contract after Irish stars Garreth O'Connor and Shaun Maher signed new deals.
