KARL FLETCHER`S strike 12 minutes from time salvaged a point for Bournemouth at home to already-relegated Chesterfield.

The Spireites, who interviewed Danny Wilson earlier on Tuesday about the vacant manager`s position at the Recreation Ground, took the lead after 17 minutes through former Barnet defender Roger Willis.

Mel Machin`s side, who are safe in 16th place, stuck to their task though and Fletcher`s late strike gave them a deserved point.

This match was played on Tuesday, rather than on Easter Monday with the rest of the Division Two programme, due to the ban on football games being held on Bank Holidays in Bournemouth after the hooligan incidents when Leeds visited the South Coast ten years ago.
