Leyton Orient winger Dean Cox has revealed the influence of manager Russell Slade persuaded him to sign a new deal.

Cox, 24, who followed Slade from Brighton at the start of last season, has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year contract extension with the League One club. "We have got a good relationship," he told the Guardian Series. "He is a massive influence. He is more than just a manager to me. He took a shine to me at Brighton and we clicked. "I enjoy the way he plays. The last couple of years have been the best of my career. I put that down to him giving me the chance and he lets me express myself."
