Leyton Orient's experienced midfielder Matt Spring is nearing a first-team return after suffering with a groin injury.
The former Sheffield United man has been sidelined for the past three-and-a-half weeks after sustaining the injury in training.
However, with the Os struggling at the foot of League One, the 31-year-old says that he hopes to be back in full training next week.
"I'm hopefully not too far away now because I've been doing bits and pieces outside this week, which is a step in the right direction," Spring told skysports.com.
"I'm feeling okay, but I don't want to rush back into it and risk something going wrong again.
"It is always disappointing to be injured at any stage of the season, but especially at the moment with the results not going for us and the lads not performing at their best.
"Obviously, I'd love to be out there trying to help the team improve and that is frustrating, but there are quite a few lads in the same boat as me, which is also disappointing.
"I've just got to take my time and make sure that I'm not feeling what I was feeling three or four weeks ago.
"Hopefully, I can get back out with the boys and train in the outdoors because I haven't done that for a good three weeks now.
"I've just got to take it day by day, but I'd say it would take about a week till I'm back with the lads.
"I don't want to put myself three weeks back again by rushing back into it, but touch wood that it won't be a million miles away."
