Offers on table for Southern and Taylor-Fletcher but Eardley awaits

Keith Southern and Gary Taylor-Fletcher are close to penning new deals with Blackpool, manager Ian Holloway has revealed. Taylor-Fletcher scored the goal which sealed a 1-0 win at Hull City in the opening game of the Championship season last week, and Holloway has been eager to tie him down. Blackpool stalwart Southern is also nearing the end of his current deal, but Holloway suggests there is little in the way of stopping either player agreeing fresh terms. "The chairman has got to make a decision and I am sure he will make the right one. Whatever that is I will support it," he told the Blackpool Gazette. "But we are at a stage now where everything has been talked about and looked at, and I expect it to be concluded in a good way for us - with those two re-signing very soon."

Eardley

Negotiations are not so straightforward for full-back Neal Eardley, though, who is seeking new terms after having his wage cut by 50 per cent following the club's relegation from the Premier League. Holloway added: "Eardley is different because he hasn't yet done what Keith and Fletch have for the club. Even when we got promoted, he didn't play in those last few games, so he is in a slightly different situation to the other two. "But regarding Keith and Fletch, I believe it will be resolved in the way I want. If they do re-sign, I'll be delighted because I would have them all day long. "They have been there, seen it and done it. They know what it takes and I think they are good enough to help us get back up and maybe stay there."
