Orient ace in running for Goal of the Year award

Leyton Orient star Dean Cox admits he is delighted to be in the running for the Mitre Goal of the Year award. Cox's superb effort against Huddersfield Town earlier this season has made the shortlist for the best 10 goals of 2010. The top 10 is set to be cut to a final five later this month before the winner is announced at the Football League Awards on Sunday 20th March. Highly-rated winger Cox is delighted to have made the top 10, but he knows he is up against some stiff competition for the prize. "It is great to make the top 10 for goal of the year," Cox told skysports.com. "I have got all the lads to get their relatives to vote for me. "There are a few fair good goals in there, but it is nice to be nominated. "Like I say there are some very good goals in the list so we will see what happens. "Obviously if I make the top five that would be great, but to be in the top 10 I am more than happy to be in that."
