Colchester have signed defender Nathan Clarke on loan from Huddersfield until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old could be handed an immediate debut against Peterborough on Friday night with the U's desperately short of cover in central defence. Manager John Ward swooped for Clarke after Paul Reid departed for Scunthorpe earlier this month, while Magnus Okuonghae is sidelined by injury and Pat Baldwin is currently suspended. Clarke has played over 300 games for Huddersfield but has featured just once this term.
