Duo leave the Orient

Leyton Orient have loaned Joe Keith and Lee Steele to clubs in League Two.

Leyton Orient have loaned Joe Keith and Lee Steele to clubs in League Two this week.

Keith has left the East London club to join Shrewsbury Town on a month's loan after failing to hold down a regular first-team place at Brisbane Road.

Gay Meadow boss Gary Peters was keen to bring the left-sided winger to Shropshire, as he looked to add some creative punch to his squad.

The news comes as Shrewsbury extended the contract of striker Michael Symes until the end of the season.

Joining the former West Ham United and Colchester United player in leaving The O's is striker Steele, who has joined Chester City on loan for family reasons.

The 32-year-old will stay on loan with The Blues until the January transfer window when he is expected to make his move a permanent arrangement.

Liverpool-born Steele was keen to return to the North West in order to be closer to his family and Chester were more than happy to snap up the hit-man.
