Brighton & Hove Albion have been successful in their application for a work permit for prospective new signing Beram Kayal - and now hope to have him available for the weekend trip to Blackpool.

Chief executive Paul Barber and manager Chris Hughton appeared before a Football Association panel on Wednesday to present the club's case - and a favourable response was forthcoming shortly after.

The club must now apply to the Home Office for a visa before registering the transfer with the Football League and receiving international clearance from the FA.

Kayal, who has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal, made 131 appearances for Celtic, scoring three goals - and has won 26 Israel caps.
