Brighton have released DR Congo-born midfielder Nzuzi Toko after both parties agreed to terminate his contract.
The 24-year-old joined from Swiss club Grasshopper Zurich on a three-year deal last summer but only made one 20-minute substitute appearance in the Capital One Cup in September.
Chief executive Paul Barber told the club's official website: "Unfortunately things didn't work out as all parties had hoped. Nonetheless all of us at the club thank Toko for his efforts and wish him well for the future."
