Wolves have several injury concerns ahead of their Championship opener against Leeds on Saturday, manager Stale Solbakken has confirmed.

Foley, Ward and Doyle added to casualty list

Wolves have several injury concerns ahead of their Championship opener against Leeds on Saturday, manager Stale Solbakken has confirmed. Kevin Foley, Stephen Ward and Kevin Doyle are all doubts for the Elland Road curtain-raiser, with Ward and Doyle having been withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad for this week's friendly with Serbia. Solbakken is keeping his fingers crossed the problems are not serious ahead of Saturday's game. "Doyle is out of the Ireland game because he's got a very sore foot," he told the club's official website. "That was a decision made between the doctors here and with Ireland. "Hopefully if it settles down he'll be fine for the Leeds game. "Wardy is having a scan on his knee. "He got a knock on the same knee that he's had something wrong with before but we'll see what happens.

Problem

"Foley is a problem too. He's had something behind his knee for 10 days which has come and gone a little bit. "Yesterday it was worse so we sent him for a scan to see what the situation is. "I'm hoping none of these are too serious." Midfielder Jamie O'Hara is still receiving treatment after undergoing a hip injection following his double hernia operation. "O'Hara is having treatment led by our medical team as well as going to see specialists as well," added Solbakken. "It's a question mark as to whether it will be one week or much longer - I don't think anyone really knows. "He's had an injection in his hip which had been causing problems after his hernia injury. "Jamie may be the concern for slightly longer term but we'll see how he goes and maybe Foley but the others should be ok." More positive news for Wolves is that Matt Jarvis, Bjorn Sigurdarson and Dorus De Vries are back in training, while Steven Fletcher and George Elokobi are expected to join the main group again this week.
