New Brighton signing Bruno has revealed he turned down better financial offers because he believes in Gus Poyet's project.
The ex-Valencia right-back agreed a two-year deal with the Championship club on Monday and will link up with another former Los Che star in Vicente, who has agreed a one-year contract extension.
Bruno insists he knows all about the Championship and is feeling highly motivated for the challenge ahead.
"I had the idea to leave Spain and I had different offers," the 31-year-old Catalonian told the club's official website.
"From the economic point of view there were places where I could have earned more, but that is not everything to me. It's more about football.
"I was aware at the beginning of the summer that there was some interest from Brighton and we have been working together since then.
"Gus was very insistent and I like the project that is going on here. I was very happy to come and I'm very motivated to achieve here.
"It's nice that a manager is very insistent on me coming and he made me feel very wanted.
"I know about the Championship. I'm crazy about football so I follow all the leagues, but obviously Brighton had Vicente so there was more of a focus there.
"I followed the whole Championship season, including the play-offs."
The Seagulls are getting an experienced campaigner and a veteran of UEFA Champions League football at the Mestalla.
And Bruno believes he can make a significant contribution at a club he claims is geared for the Premier League.
"I feel at my best mentally," he added. "At 31 years of age I'm mature but I have the excitement of a very young player.
"My family will also be moving over. That is a big thing for me because we have got two children, but we are all very excited and looking forward to the new adventure.
"Vicente is a former team-mate of mine and a friend so it would mean a lot to play with him again, but it's not the most important thing, or a fundamental part of my decision.
"I have seen Brighton games, because of Vicente, and the logical progression for this club is to move towards the Premier League.
"The squad is being built for promotion one day so that is my target now."
