Roy Hodgson plans to discuss moves for Tomasz Kuszczak and Gareth McAuley if they become available.
Kuszczak has had to provide back-up to Edwin van der Sar at Manchester United since moving to Old Trafford in 2006, initially on loan, and his chances of becoming No.1 appear slim even after the Dutchman's impending retirement.
He played for West Brom before joining the Red Devils, spending two years at The Hawthorns following a switch from Hertha Berlin, and Hodgson is interested in bringing him back.
Hodgson is determined to strengthen his squad in the summer after steering the Baggies to Premier League survival, and has also set his sights on Ipswich defender McAuley.
Speculation
McAuley's contract at Portman Road is set to expire and Ipswich manager Paul Jewell recently admitted he was likely to leave.
Hodgson said: "They are players that fall into the West Brom category. If those players are available, they will certainly be players we discuss.
"At the moment all that type of talk is pure speculation. There will be a lot of that in the next few weeks.
"This is the time when agents are trying to move their players around and make them attractive to other clubs, by supposedly having clubs who are interested in buying them."
Dorrans
Meanwhile, midfielder Graham Dorrans is poised to return to training next week after more than two months out of action with an ankle problem.
Hodgson has ruled him out of the final Premier League clash of the season at Newcastle plus Scotland's programme of summer internationals.
Dorrans has been sidelined since sustaining the injury during training in early March.
Hodgson said: "The good news is Graham might be able to join in training next week, which would be very good.
"It will be good to get him back involved on the training pitch before he goes away for the summer break.
"But there is no chance he will play against Newcastle and he won't be involved with Scotland.
"It would be madness for him to play for Scotland because he has not played for months."
