Scouts flock to check on midfielder

Bournemouth face a fight to keep hold of exciting youngster Marvyn Bartley, skysports.com understands. The 21-year-old midfielder only joined the Cherries in 2007 when former manager Kevin Bond picked him up from non-league Hampton & Richmond. After taking a few months to settle into professional life, Bartley was soon competing for a first-team place and by the end of last season was rewarded with a new two-year deal. Bartley has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting midfield prospects in League Two and a host of scouts are now checking on him. He scored his first-ever goal in last weekend's 3-1 win over Darlington at Dean Court. Milton Keynes Dons, Leyton Orient, Brighton and Bradford City are among the clubs said to be keeping a close eye Bartley with a view to testing Bournemouth's resolve in January.
