Brighton captain Dean Hammond will play through till the end of the season despite suffering a double hernia just before Christmas.
The midfielder, 24, is willing to play despite the pain as his club battles to survive in League One.
But while surgery on the injury will be put off until the summer, manager Dean Wilkins has vowed to ease the workload on Hammond to ease his pain.
"He is going to continue," he told the club's official website. "We are just trying to give him a bit of time off to recover, because a day off seems to make a difference."
