A product of the club's youth academy, Tyler has already notched up nearly 150 games between the post for The Posh.
a delighted Fry said: "It's no secret that I rate Mark as one of the best goalkeepers outside the Premiership and he obviously has a key role to play."
Meanwhile Fry is unrepentant in Brighton's battle to capture defender Matthew Wicks.
The 22-year-old has spent a highly successful loan period at Brighton, scoring twice and instantly building a rapport with the fans, but with his spell coming to an end, no agreement has been reached over a fee.
Fry wants £50,000 for the defender, despite the fact that Wicks will be able to move on a Bosman-style free transfer at the end of the season.
"I love it down here; I'm playing well and I want to stay at Brighton for longer," said Wicks. "I've not been informed of how negotiations are going between the clubs, but as it's my last game on Friday I hope something can be sorted out before that."
However Fry said: "If they want Matthew for nothing they will have to wait until the end of the season, when he's out of contract."
