Rotherham manager Steve Evans reflected on a "good day" after his side scored twice in the final three minutes to earn a 2-2 draw with Huddersfield.

The Millers were staring down the barrel after a disappointing display as a goal in either half from James Vaughan and Conor Coady put Huddersfield into a comfortable 2-0 lead.

But a late rally saw Jonson Clarke-Harris and Lee Frecklington step off the bench and find the net to steal an unlikely point and extend their unbeaten run to five games.

"I thought we started well, some of the passing and moving in first 15 minutes was quite outstanding," Evans said.

"When you have a passage of play like that, there's always a downside that you don't get the goal and we didn't get ourselves in front and then we lose a silly goal against the run of play.

"When you're 2-0 down with a couple of minutes left, we're delighted (to draw). A point in the Championship is a good day.

"It's only a very good day if you get all three so we have had a good day.

"You have to have a heart and desire. This is a real tough league. It just shows you how unforgiving the Championship is.

"I'm pleased for all my players. We came in yesterday when we could have taken the easy option and got our rewards in the end, our fitness levels showed.

"This is two points dropped as far as we are concerned. If we'd have scored first we'd have won."

While Evans' assertion that it was two points dropped for his side may have been misguided, counterpart Chris Powell had genuine reason to feel disappointed.

The Terriers were good value for a first away win since October 1 and were the better side throughout.

And the game looked over after Vaughan's first goal since November 2013 and Coady's header, until they caved in.

"It was a good away performance, played to a tee really by us," said Powell. "I was really happy with what I was seeing, we just didn't manage to see it out.

"We were in good positions to get the third goal, we counter-attacked and found ourselves in really good situations which could and should have given us the third goal.

"But it wasn't forthcoming really. There wasn't pressure building from Rotherham, we managed to snuff out most of what they threw at us then we didn't take responsibility in the box and stop a cross at source.

"So you're always going to invite trouble and then the second goal was deflected.

"All of a sudden from being in a position you'd worked hard for, we really should have seen it out and we're disappointed with a draw. "Before the game with the way it has been going for us we would have taken that, but it's two points dropped for us sure.

"It was a good opportunity for us, no doubt, to get three points on the road.

"There was a lot to like from my team. We had a real grim performance against Birmingham, but our training and preparation was good and there was a lot to like.

"We really should be walking away with the three points. I felt we more than matched them and we played the football we wanted them to play."
