Huddersfield striker James Vaughan is the first to acknowledge his impressive early goalscoring exploits this season are the result of his team-mates' groundwork, according to skipper Peter Clarke.
Former Norwich forward Vaughan, who signed a permanent deal with Huddersfield in the summer after scoring 14 goals while on loan last season, has fired eight in seven games this time around and was voted Sky Bet Championship player of the month for August.
"James has started the season ever so well," Clarke said. "But I think he'll be the first to admit that he's been able to do that because of the chances his team-mates have provided .
"James is really reaping the rewards, but it's a great team effort that's got us where we are and has got him some of his goals too.
"We've got a group of players who all know their jobs now and know what they're doing. The system we're playing is still in its early stages, but it's been very encouraging so far.
"I'd like to think we progress as a group and any individuals that thrive will do so as a result of a cohesive squad."
