Adam Clayton: Huddersfield midfielder eager to face former club Leeds
Huddersfield Town midfielder Adam Clayton admits he is excited at the prospect of facing former club Leeds United at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday.
It will be the first time Clayton has faced Leeds since leaving the Whites to link up with old United boss Simon Grayson in the summer.
The former England Under-20 international was first signed by Grayson in August 2010 after initially arriving at Elland Road on loan from Manchester City.
Clayton was a surprise addition to the transfer list as Neil Warnock was forced into selling a number of players to raise cash for new recruits.
The midfielder faced a tirade of abuse from the Leeds fans on social networking site Twitter when he did eventually sign for the Terriers.
Clayton told Sky Sports News: "I cannot wait to play against friends having only recently left. Banter has been flying about this week with text messages. It will be good, I cannot wait.
"When you are playing people you know you want to get that little bit over on them. I'm sure I will try an extra 5% to get a goal.
"I have had quite a bit of stick on Twitter from Leeds fans. I don't know if they still wanted me there. It was a disappointing time to leave but I found a club who are on the up and great to be around."
