Midfielder eyes promotion push

Huddersfield ace Oliver Norwood believes they can maintain their form and make a serious push for promotion to the Premier League. The Terriers, who won promotion to the Championship last season, are currently second in the table following their impressive 3-1 win over promotion hopefuls Blackpool on Monday night. Norwood scored Huddersfield's third goal with a swerving free-kick against Blackpool and he insists the whole squad are confident of being in the race for promotion come the end of the season. "It was a great win last night and the whole team are buzzing at the minute," Norwood told Sky Sports. "The gaffer got his tactics spot-on against Blackpool and we fully deserved to get the win against one of the best sides in the league. "It is great to be in second place at the moment, but nobody is getting carried away at the minute. "However, I see no reason why we cannot be up there challenging for promotion at the end of the season. We have nothing to fear and the manager has shown we are ready to attack whoever we are playing."

Team spirit

Norwood describes the dressing room spirit at Huddersfield as the best he has experienced and feels that has played a key role in their early season success. "The dressing room is definitely the best one I have played in," added Norwood. "All the lads are flying and we are a close-knit group. "I have been made very welcome as have the other new boys and I feel settled at the club. "There is a lot of quality players at the club and I think that has shown with our performances and our results so far." Huddersfield were tipped to struggle following the loss of Jordan Rhodes to Blackburn, but Norwood believes they have proved that they are more than just a one-man team. "Jordan is a quality player, there is no doubting that, but no disrespect to Jordan I believe we have shown we can cope without him," continued Norwood. "Vaughany [James Vaughan] and Novak were frightening against Blackpool and the other lads have been chipping in with goals and I have now got two in two which is great." Former Manchester United youngster Norwood had a reputation of a dead-ball specialist at Old Trafford and he was happy to see his practice pay off with his goal against Blackpool. "I do practice my free-kicks a lot and it was great to see that one hit the net against Blackpool, even though Vaughany was trying to claim it somehow. "But at the end of the day I am not bothered who scores as long as we keep winning and maintain our form."
