Leeds boss looking to tie down key quartet

Leeds United manager Neil Warnock is keen to resolve the futures of a number of first-team players. Captain Robert Snodgrass, top-scorer Ross McCormack and young midfielder Adam Clayton are all tied to Elland Road until 2013, while Aidy White's contract expires this summer. All four are key players and Warnock is keen to avoid the situation of recent seasons when Jermaine Beckford, Bradley Johnson and Neil Kilkenny have departed on free transfers. Snodgrass is one of the first players on Leeds' team sheet, McCormack is now a regular following an indifferent first season, Clayton has seized his midfield opportunity, while White impressed in Sunday's 2-0 win at Middlesbrough operating in a more advanced position.

Reaction

Warnock has been busy since replacing Simon Grayson although the ex-QPR boss now wants to make time to see how the players feel about staying on and whether their agents are keen on thrashing out fresh terms. "I haven't had enough time yet but I will get around to it over the next 10 days," he told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "I'd like to get an initial reaction from all of them. Not just the players themselves but the agents or the people who represent them. "I don't like leaving things like that until the summer. Certain things you should try to put to bed as soon as possible."
