Harry Bunn insists his father's role as assistant manager was not a major factor in his loan switch to Rochdale.
Bunn is a product of the Manchester City academy system, where he worked under current Dale boss Steve Eyre, and has arrived at Spotland on loan from the Barclays Premier League leaders. With dad Frank looking on from the touchline, Bunn marked his full Rochdale debut against Preston with a superb equaliser in a 1-1 draw before the hosts bowed out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on penalties. "My dad's never coached me before so that didn't really influence my decision to come here," he said. "Obviously I've known Steve for a long time but since I've been here training has been great and the lads have been great with me. It will help me massively." The 18-year-old feels the squad spirit he has identified during his short time with Rochdale will help pull them out of their current position in the League One relegation zone. He added: "The lads here are fantastic. They're all good pros, we're a team and everyone gets on with each other. We're just trying to look to turn things around and we are very close to turning it around. The performance against Preston was better than it has been in recent weeks and hopefully in the future we'll keep progressing."
