Slade happy to bring in Huddersfield midfielder

League One strugglers Leyton Orient have brought in Huddersfield Town midfielder Tom Clarke on a three-month loan deal. Clarke is approaching 100 appearances for the Terriers, but he has not been involved in manager Lee Clark's plans so far this season. The 23-year-old can also play in defence, but Orient boss Russell Slade is planning to use his new recruit in a midfield role. "Tom has played a part in getting Huddersfield to the play-offs in this division for the last two years, so we're pleased to get him down here and into our squad," Slade told the club's official website. "We've signed him for the maximum 93-day period, so there's some longevity there and that's important too. "Tom can play in midfield or as a defender too, but it's in midfield that we'll be looking to use him initially." Clarke is in contention to make his Orient debut against Colchester United on Saturday, but he will not be eligible for the game against his parent club later this month.
