Clark wary on using Rhodes

Huddersfield boss Lee Clark has not ruled out pulling Jordan Rhodes out of the Scotland Under-21 squad.

The striker has been named in Billy Stark's squad for next week's friendly with Norway, but the game is just a day after Town's first-round Carling Cup clash at Port Vale. Rhodes scored 22 goals for Huddersfield last season, and although Clark does not want to hinder his international chances, he is putting club before country. "I've had productive talks with Billy Stark and it's been agreed that we will decide whether to play Jordan in the Carling Cup," Clark told the Huddersfield Examiner. "It's great for Jordan and the club that he's in the Scotland frame, and it shows the talent and ability he has. "I don't want to stand in the way of players representing their country, but I also have to take into account the needs of the club and I will talk things over with my coaching staff."
