Chesterfield are in talks with Huddersfield about extending Jack Hunt's loan spell at the b2net Stadium.
The full-back's half-season stay with the League Two leaders ended after the 3-2 victory at Southend on Saturday.
"We are trying to keep Jack Hunt and with both clubs talking we are trying to sort it out," said Chesterfield boss John Sheridan.
"One thing that Jack does is to give you enthusiasm and a burst of energy."
