Boston United have brought in Huddersfield defender John McCombe ahead of Saturday's trip to Mansfield.
The League Two strugglers are very much in the scrap to retain Football League status and have been looking to bolster a squad beset by injuries of late.
Boston will hope the 21-year-old central defender will help add stability to the defensive ranks at York Street, with the club desperate to plug a defence that has fallen short this term.
Injuries to key midfielder Steven Vaughan, when coupled with Simon Rusk and Richie Ryan being sidelined, have not aided the club's plight of late.
McCombe will spend the next month at the relegation-threatened club.
