Terriers pair extend deals

Huddersfield Town have extended the contracts of two of their squad players.

Huddersfield Town have extended the contracts of two of their squad players this week.

Striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher and centre back David Mirfin (pictured) have both signed new deals until the summer of 2009.

Former Leyton Orient and Lincoln City hit-man Taylor-Fletcher has had an eventful start to the new League One season, having scored the 500,000th goal in Football League history last week.

Mirfin, 21, is a player with plenty of promise and a fan favourite among the faithful at The Galpharm Stadium.

"Fletch has proved to be a great signing and I'm delighted he has followed Dave Mirfin by agreeing an extension," Terriers boss Peter Jackson told the club's official website.

"That's where we're trying to get to and I want to build a side which will serve the club for years to come."
