Danny Schofield is close to agreeing a new deal with Huddersfield that will see him stay in Yorkshire until 2008.
Schofield has made over 200 appearances for the club and his goals this season have helped Huddersfield mount a real promotion challenge.
A host of clubs have made known their interest in the 25-year-old but Schofield has put an end to any speculation by agreeing an extension.
"I have had a real affinity with Huddersfield because I have been here seven years," the player told Huddersfield's official website.
"I'm delighted because we have an excellent chance of going up and playing Championship football next season."
