HUDDERSFIELD TOWN defender Nathan Clarke has suffered a major setback as a fresh injury ruled him out for 12 weeks.

The 19-year-old had missed the start of the season as he recovered from knee surgery but suffered a huge blow in his first game back from injury.

The talented youngster felt a niggle after the game against Wycombe and a scan has now revealed that he has torn his medial ligament in the opposite knee.

The news will be a blow to Terriers boss Mick Wadsworth (pictured), who has not had much chance to look at the youngster who performed so well in the first team last season.

Wadsworth has been plagued with injuries to his defenders, and was hoping to have Clarke back as soon as possible to give him more options.

The recent loss of influential striker Andy Booth for a further month with a torn calf muscle has also been a blow for Wadsworth.
