Accrington striker James Gray has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract extension.
The Northern Ireland under-21 international arrived at the Crown Ground in 2012 and scored eight goals in 23 starts for Stanley during 2013/14. Gray, who wrapped up last season with three goals in the final two games, cited boss James Beattie as the one of the main reasons for his stay. "It's a huge compliment that the manager wants me to stay," the 21-year-old said. "The improvements in my performances at the end of last season were mainly down to him so hopefully I can repay him again next season." Former England striker Beattie was equally excited at the prospect of passing on his knowledge and working with Gray in seasons to come. "James had a great end to the season," the Stanley boss said. "I think he's improved on the pitch and I think he loves working with me on a one to one basis. "I'll try to share as many things as I can with him as I do with all the players but I think that James takes a special interest in getting one on one tuition from me and I'm more than happy with that."
