Scunthorpe captain Paul Reid is nearing a return to action after suffering a fractured wrist during pre-season.
Assistant boss Chris Brass has revealed the 30-year-old defender could return as early as this weekend's visit of Sheffield United. "(He) goes back to have his cast off on Wednesday," he told the club's website. "We are hopeful after that he will be given the all clear to play. Whether we throw him in at the weekend is a different matter. "But, as the gaffer has said before, there is no problem with him fitness wise."
