Vale lose Collins to Tykes

Defender Lee Collins has completed his loan switch from Port Vale to Championship club Barnsley.

Collins has joined the Tykes for the remainder of the season, when the 23-year-old will make his move to Oakwell a permanent one. Vale boss Micky Adams said: "He is a fantastic lad with a lot of ability and I am sure he will be a success at Barnsley. "All of the lads will miss him, but at the same time they are pleased for him and I am sure they wish him the best of luck for the future." Collins made 162 appearances for Vale, who are currently in administration, after starting his career at Wolves, where he failed to appear for the first team, before moving on to Hereford.
