Midfielder Luke Guttridge has parted ways with League Two outfit Aldershot by mutual consent.

The 29-year-old arrived at the Recreation Ground in 2010 and made a total of 80 appearances, scoring 13 goals. Manager Dean Holdsworth told the club's official website: "Luke and I had a frank conversation and I have detected that he has not been a happy and motivated player recently. Luke is able to move on to a new challenge and his departure provides me with the opportunity to bring another player in for the future. "It is about focusing on the team at the moment and I want a positive squad throughout. It was a tough decision but an easy one because we both wanted the same thing." Guttridge added: "I have mixed feelings. It is exciting what is out there in front of me and I am looking for a challenge that suits me but it was emotional saying goodbye to the lads." Meanwhile, loanee Josh Payne has extended his stay from Oxford until the end of the season, while defender Chris Doig has left the Shots after his short-term agreement reached an end.
