Defender pleased to have penned 18-month contract

Kelvin Langmead has told Sky Sports of his delight at earning a permanent switch to League Two outfit Northampton Town. The defender has agreed an 18-month contract with the Cobblers after impressing during a loan spell. The 26-year-old jumped at the chance to join the club on a full-time basis after being frozen out of the first team picture at former employers Peterborough United. He is now looking forward to helping Northampton in their efforts to clamber out of the fourth tier, with a fresh start exactly what he needed. "I am delighted to sign permanently," Langmead told Sky Sports.

Excited

"I came here to help do a job and nothing has changed there. "I'm excited to have the opportunity to work with the gaffer. Hopefully we will both fulfil our ambitions here and that is certainly something I am determined to do. "I would also like to thank all the staff at Peterborough. "I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and playing in a promotion season to the championship was a wonderful experience. I wish them all well."
