Morris praises Gulls physio

Winger Ian Morris has paid tribute to Torquay physio Damian Davey for his role in the Irishman's remarkable fitness return.

Morris, a summer signing from Chesterfield, underwent knee surgery in October to remove a piece of bone floating in his knee and was originally expected to be out of action for at least two months. However, just four weeks after going under the knife, the 24-year-old was available for selection once again and, by his own admission, feeling better than ever. "It comes down to the surgery going extremely well and to the work of our physio down here, Damian Davey, who really knows his stuff and what he's talking about," he told Press Association Sport. "I got myself plenty of rest and my rehab has been brilliant. It's made my muscles stronger than they were before and it has really helped my strength. "In a way, it has been a bit of a blessing in disguise."
