Poyet happy to have a look at former Preston midfielder

Former Preston North End midfielder Darren Carter is training with Brighton & Hove Albion as he continues to look for a new contract. Carter has spent the last two months trying to impress Birmingham City manager Chris Hughton, but a deal with the Blues seems a long way off. The 27-year-old has been a free agent after his release from Preston following the club's relegation to League One last term. Carter said on Twitter: "Down in Brighton tweeps training till Friday. No decision reached regarding Blues, just accepting every opportunity I'm given at the moment." Brighton boss Gus Poyet is keen to add players to his squad to boost the Seagulls' promotion challenge and will cast his eye over the Solihull-born midfielder's ability. "We always bring in two or three to have a look at when we get a chance," Poyet told The Argus. "He is a player I haven't seen in a while."
