Jalal makes Cherries vow

Bournemouth goalkeeper Shwan Jalal is refusing to take his position as the club's number one for granted.

Jalal was one of the Cherries' leading performers on their way to promotion from League Two last season and he has taken the same impressive form into the current campaign. Fellow Dean Court stoppers Dan Thomas and Shane Murphy are currently sidelined with injury, leaving Eddie Howe with no recognised goalkeeper among his substitutes at present. "I know never to rest on my laurels," Jalal told the club's official website. "I know the manager is always watching me and when I train I have got to be sharp and never take my foot off the pedal. "It doesn't affect me at all that we haven't got a keeper on the bench. "I want to be a keeper who never makes a mistake and has a 7/10 in every game."
