Ankle surgery to rule defender out for closing fixtures

Leeds United will lose right-back Jason Crowe for the remainder of the season due to ankle surgery. The former Northampton Town defender will go under the knife on Friday, ruling him out for the rest of the League One campaign. Crowe started the season as Leeds' first choice and has made 16 League One starts, including playing his part in their famous FA Cup success over Manchester United. Leeds manager Simon Grayson has confirmed Crowe will not be available for selection again this season, meaning Leigh Bromby and Andy Hughes will compete for the right-back spot. "Jason is going in for a minor operation on Friday," Grayson told the club's official website. "It's a clean-up more than anything, but it means he won't be available again now this season."
